The best way to explore the Algarve is to discover its interior, in its most hidden villages, full of customs and traditions, which represent the forgotten culture of this region with centuries of history. There is so much to know and experience, from the flavours of the regional gastronomy to the handicraft, including the diversity of nature, legends and stories. We have many suggestions for our guests, who wish to venture into these lands, from the coast to the mountains.

Sun & Sea

With the ocean as a neighbour, nautical experiences are a must.

Five minutes from São Rafael is the peaceful Marina de Albufeira, from where you can set off on many adventures at sea, ranging from a simple and relaxed boat trip along the Algarve coast, with the possibility of spotting dolphins and getting to know the magnificent caves along the way.

Should the underwater world dazzle you, you can take your goggles and fins and venture out on a snorkelling experience.

The Nature

Close to São Rafael, about a 15-minute drive away, is Lagoa dos Salgados, a veritable sanctuary for various species of birds, which has made it one of the most sought-after birdwatching spots in the entire Algarve.

Here you can also take a walk along the footpaths and let yourself be seduced by the rich flora and fauna of the entire region. If you prefer, this tour can be done on horseback, in an equestrian experience through the dunes and in perfect communion with nature.

Golf

The Algarve has been considered the best golf destination in the world several times by golf magazines and professionals. Living up to this reality, our guests who play golf – or anyone who wants to try it – can also do so on an 18-hole golf course, which is located 10 minutes drive from São Rafael.

The area is also well supplied with golf courses, several of which are only a few minutes away by car.
